RVBusiness reports that several RV resorts near Phoenix, AZ., operated by Equity LifeStyle Properties are making improvements in preparation for the upcoming 2016-17 snowbird season, according to an announcement from the Arizona Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (Arizona ARVC).
ViewPoint RV & Golf Resort in Mesa is working to complete its second fitness center by the end of September. That’s really good news as those of us who value exercise and fitness are seeing RV parks realize the value of fitness centers to RVers, especially senior RVers that spend many months at their resorts.
These type of improvements also add value to a resort for boondockers that come out of the desert a few times during the snowbird season to enjoy the amenities of full service resorts before returning to the boonies.
“It’s going to be a really nice facility with nice equipment,” said park manager Cheryl Dewarrat, adding that a grand opening for the new fitness center is planned for Nov. 17.
Dewarrat said the resort is improving its facilities in response to guest demand. “We have very much a boomer crowd,” she said, “and they want to stay busy and active.”
ViewPoint’s amenities include an 18-hole golf course, four swimming pools and seven hot tubs. Park activities include outdoor music events, concerts, tailgate parties and music on the golf greens every Wednesday. The park also has a ballroom that can accommodate 1,500 people.
“We have 30-year-olds who tell us they want to live here and can’t because it’s an age-restricted community,” Dewarrat said of the resort, which features more than 300 RV sites as well as sites for park model RVs and manufactured homes.
